1. Introduction
Tap Dot Tap is a game developed by Avery IO. We built Tap Dot Tap to be a local-first, private app — your high score, progress and unlocked content belong to you, and we deliberately do not collect, store or share your personal information. This policy explains exactly what happens with your data.
2. Information Collection and Use
Tap Dot Tap does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There is no app-level account, no sign-up, no login. Your best score, selected dot skin, unlocked content and game settings are stored locally on your device.
If you choose to enable the Game Center leaderboard (see section 6), your best score is submitted through Apple's Game Center so you can compete with other players. This is entirely optional, turned off by default, and never transmitted to a server operated by Avery IO.
3. In-App Purchases
Tap Dot Tap offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase called Unlock Everything, which unlocks extra lives and all cosmetic dot skins. All purchases are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store. Avery IO does not see, receive, or store your payment credentials at any point. Apple confirms only the entitlement (whether you have purchased Unlock Everything) so that the app can unlock the corresponding features on your device.
4. Analytics and Usage Data
Tap Dot Tap does not include any third-party analytics SDK, telemetry library, or in-app tracking. The App Store privacy nutrition label declares "Data Not Collected", and that is literally the case.
Apple may, separately and only with your consent, provide developers with anonymous, aggregated metrics through App Store Connect — such as download counts, crash reports, and session counts. These reports contain no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to an individual user. You can opt out of sharing this data with developers at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
5. Third-Party Services and Advertising
Tap Dot Tap does not display advertisements, does not use ad networks, and does not embed third-party tracking or marketing tools. The only external services Tap Dot Tap relies on are Apple's Game Center for the optional leaderboard, and Apple's StoreKit for processing the in-app purchase — both of which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
6. Game Center Leaderboard
The global leaderboard is an optional feature that is turned off by default. The app does not contact Game Center at all until you explicitly opt in by tapping "Enable Leaderboard" on the leaderboard screen.
When enabled, the leaderboard is, by design:
- Operated entirely by Apple — your Game Center nickname and best score are submitted through Apple's Game Center and are visible to other players on the leaderboard.
- Inaccessible to Avery IO — we cannot view, query, or recover any personal data, and we operate no server of our own.
- Pseudonymous — any player identifiers are managed by Apple and cannot be used to identify you across other developers' apps.
- Free of any app-level account — it uses your Apple ID's Game Center profile directly.
You can decline at any time and still play the full game; if you decline, nothing is ever sent. You may choose to enable it later, and your existing best score will be submitted at that point. Game Center itself is governed by Apple's privacy policy, and you can manage or turn off Game Center at any time in iOS Settings > Game Center.
7. Children's Privacy
Tap Dot Tap is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because the app does not collect any personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The optional Game Center leaderboard is provided by Apple and subject to Apple's own protections and parental controls. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or to clarify our practices. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
